All of us in Dirty Pool are speechless after the events that took place on September 11th, 2001. We send our thoughts and music out to all those who lost their lives and the families left behind. Some people get mad -- I play the guitar. This song is a result of my sorrow, anger, frustration, and hope. There is a lot of controversy surrounding playing the "Star Spangled Banner" on the guitar. Make no mistake, this version is an expression of patriotism, rage, and the protection of freedom. It's too easy to forget how great our country really is. ~ Paul Shellooe & Dirty Pool Star Spangled Banner by Dirty Pool (2.4 MB MP3 file) |

TAKING A BREAK: Lots of people have been asking me where Dirty Pool has been for the past 6 months. Sorry for the silence, but we've been taking a needed break. Paul has been working on a solo electronic record that's almost done. He also used the extra time to concentrate on his graphic design job which meant travelling to California about 3 times a month, but the work resulted in a bitchin' new home studio (see photo on right)! Aaron has done some gigs with some local bands and started his own business -- he's doing really well. Colin has been playing bass with lots of different bands around Denver and is still the baddest bass player around. But now -- they're BACK . . . GETTIN' THE BAND BACK TOGETHER: After taking some time off, the need to play rock and roll has returned. The band has had some meetings and a few rehearsals and has decided to get back into the fray. Instead of going back and just playing the same ol' songs at all the same clubs, the boys wanna go big, fresh, and brand new. Paul has been writing a bunch of new songs in his home studio and so far, it's different than anything that they've done before. The plan is to record a new CD entirely in the studio (a REAL studio record) and then translate the new songs to the live setting. Expect the unexpected. |
WEB SITE (AND MUSIC) HAVE MOVED: Sorry if you stopped by the Dirty Pool site in the past couple of weeks and found an empty hole. Our main man Zach Tippit had been hosting the DP site for years (he's the coolest!), but had to move to Kansas. The site mysteriously "existed" for a while after he left, but got cut off a couple of weeks ago. To maximize cost, dirtypool.com will have all of the latest news, events, etc. All of the free music will now only be at our MP3.com site ( www.mp3.com/dirtypool). |
